Coordinate transformation is used to convert the coordinates used to another coordinate system because of the variation in systems between different countries or regions. Some types of transformations are defined and should be included in your research when used. The definitions can be found below.

7-parameter transformation

The data is transformed from WGS84 to ETRS89 using the 7-parameter transformation. The transformation parameters are obtained from the Hydrography Service and are time dependent. For each year, a parameter set is available for calculating coordinates in ETRS89 in the Netherlands, followed by a transformation procedure to the correct day.

7-parameter transformation 1989

The data are transformed from WGS84 to ETRS89 using the 7-parameter transformation. The transformation parameters are obtained from the Hydrography Service and are time dependent. The 1989.0 parameter set was used for each transformation.

Not transformed

The data were received in ETRS89. No transformation was required.

RDNAPTRANS2008

The data is transformed from RD to ETRS89, using the RDNAPTRANStm transformation, version 2008. RDNAPTRANStm is the official transformation of RD / NAP to ETRS89. It is sourced from the Land Registry.

RDNAPTRANS2018

The data is transformed from RD to ETRS89, using the RDNAPTRANStm transformation, version 2018. RDNAPTRANStm is the official transformation of RD / NAP to ETRS89. It is provided by the Land Registry, the Department of Public Works and the Royal Navy's Hydrographic Service. The latter parties collaborated with NSGI.
