Exogenic processes

The category exogenic processes describes the processes that take place in the research environment. There could be processes present that can change the landscape, position of the ground level or the structure of the subsoil in a very short timespan. A short timespan is defined as several hours or several days.
Trench diversion
Laterally migrating channels occur.
Trench forming
Formation or deepening of trenches takes place due to scouring of the water bottom.
Piping
Water flows underneath a dike or other body of land to reach the surface.
Cracking
The (clayey or peaty) topsoil has dried out to such an extent that cracking occurs, usually in a polygon pattern.
Sand drift
Sand drift occurs when the wind blows hard, also called alive drift sand.
