The percussion gouge is a solid constructed gouge which is hammered into the ground with the help of a sledgehammer. This technique is used when the soils contains much debris. Subsamples can be taken when big percussion gouges are used. This is done by using an insert ring or socket. The percussion gouge can drill more than 50 metric meters.
